A Brief history.....
1945... Home from Europe , Herbert Nestell Starts "Tel-Rad Company" in the
historic city of Kingston, New York. Started in an outside garage, quickly moved
into a shop/showroom inside the main house.
As the years went by, Herb Married and
raised a family right there on Henry St., and soon the whole family was involved in
the business, Herb, Anne, Barbara, Charles, Walter
1976... Tel-Rad moves to Broadway ! Having outgrown the basement of Henry St.
Telrad moved to 686 Broadway, continuing to provide topnotch service of
Televisions and Radios as well as sales, specializing in the QUASAR line.
1983...Herb and Anne retire !!! 38 years ! Time to relax a bit. However the family
business continues to thrive.Charles and Walter take over, Now called
Tel-Rad Television, Tel-Rad becomes one of the largest TV/Video sales and
service centers in the Kingston area .
Video disks are becoming popular and Tel-Rad offers the largest selection of
disks in the Hudson Valley.
Several new faces were added also.. Bob, John M., Colleen, Barry, John L.
1990...Charles decides to move on and Walter and his lovely wife Tammy continue
the Tel-Rad family tradition. At this point they decided to drop sales and concentrate
on SERVICE. Walter having been the master technician for some time now finds it better
to let the department stores kill each other for the lowest sale price on electronics
while HE fixes them no matter where it was purchased. And those new VCR's are
that were sold by the dept. Stores in the "video-boom" are breaking down in record numbers !
They really have there hands full. Tel-Rad Service is born !
1998...After several years of working 18 hour days, Walter and Tammy
are exhausted. John M rejoins the Tel-Rad Service family. Tel-Rad Service
now offers IN-HOME service and service of Air Conditioners. Both Walter
and John are EPA Certified for refrigeration. John Specializes in IN-HOME
repair of LARGE SCREEN TV's.
YEAR 2000 !!!!The Team is now joined by Mike T.
And "Smiling Gene", Mike is a Top Notch TV/VCR Technician
and Gene handles customer relations, receiving and pickup and delivery.
UPDATE!!, 09/01/2002, Mike T leaves and two Techs join our team!
Introducing John T and Richard D. John is an accomplished TV tech and
Rich is experienced in Computer repair and programing. The team GROWS!
